Sharon and Jinah's visit

Sharon and her cousin Jinah came to visit me two weeks after YuMin and her sister did. I was really glad to see Sharon again because the last time I saw her was five years ago in Chicago. Despite the tight schedules as I had to work, we made the best of our time together in Kuching. Here are some of the things we did and saw.
Dinner at The Junk, a fancy restaurant with decorations that resemble things that people would have in their Kuching houses several decades ago. The food was really good and served in massive bowls.
My salmon gnocchi
Jinah is a speech therapist and an experienced traveller. She's very cute when we took this photo.
 Dessert time at the Chinahouse.
There was something really refreshing and calm about the riverside that night, probably due to the heavy rain that had just washed down on everything that evening. Sharon also found the view across the river to the Astana very captivating.
The next morning, this was my duty while my two friends relaxed in the hotel:
Lunch break runs: Audrey brought us to have local food at the hawker center near Pandungan

Since Sharon was interested in learning about the history and culture of Sarawak, we went to the Sarawak Museum (free entrance, lacks air-con, has some good cultural/ethnological artifacts to be viewed, and no photos were allowed inside). I dropped them off at a nearby mall (after getting lost a bit on the road) and rushed back to the examination place to continue the afternoon exams.
After finishing my first day accompanying violin students for their exams at the Hilton Hotel, Sharon and I went to Kai Joo Cafe to chat and update each other about our lives.
We were caught in a heavy rain when we arrived India street so we spent some time taking photos of the shops that were closing, and eventually headed to the same place we went to the night before because it was the closest place to avoid the rain.

Ending this post with silly photos we took while waiting for dinner. ;)
