7 Churches of Revelation-Philadelphia

Field notes:
Alasehir/Philadelphia is a small and almost insignificant town, but it is this weaker church that God praises for being faithful.
This area is known for its agriculture and vineyards.
Christ is holy and true
Holds the key of David
Metaphor of door: when God opens the door, no one can shut; the one holding the key is important
City gates are prominent
They are weak, yet they have kept God's word and have been faithful
You don't have to be a great church to be a good church (no critique)
Endured Patiently
Jesus will keep them from the hour of trial 
(Gold are melted down to test its purity)
Hold on to what you have, don't give up
Crown
Pillar in the temple of God
Capstone 

We are the temple of the holy spirit. We are living stones
Red bricks=Byzantine era


After a short visit to this little church in Philadelphia, the bus took us to Pamukkale, where we would spend the night that night.
