Singapore Botanic Gardens
We fell in love with the trees and all the plant life thriving in this beautiful 74 hectares garden that was free for the public to enjoy even if we went after church at noon. It was my parents' first time there and they fell in love with this garden, as if transported back to the Chicago Botanic Gardens, which they went often to take pictures of the flowers. The people living in Singapore are blessed to have this huge garden that they can go to, with no mosquitoes and lots of heritage trees.

Portraits in Singapore
Lately, I'm inspired by photography and making portraits again. Current favourite tools: iphone, adobe lightroom, Canon dslr, and a dose of inspiration from blogs, instagram, and flickr once in a while.

Birthday numbers
I'm just popping in to write about the days surrounding turning twenty-seven. My littlest baby cousin was born a day before my birthday. I took photos of seventeen-day-old baby Hannah with her parents aka my childhood friend since I was nine. I read at least twenty-six books in my twenty-sixth year. I have been living in Kuching for a full year. I learned more about how to communicate with more than thirty-five different students at work. I still feel inadequate and sorrowful often but with a little bit more resilience built in through brokenness, God's grace, and the encouragement of those who love me constantly and steadfastly. I am still working towards my goal of reading a-hundred-fifty books. I just started another three-hundred-sixty-five photo project to record each day of my twenty-seven. I am finite, but God is infinite. Lord, I will trust in You.

Spring in full bloom-College Green, Bristol, May 2014. |
-Kyuhyun's farewell album "Goodbye For Now". He just enlisted in the army so it will be a sad two years without new music from my favourite Korean singer. :( Watch the song's mv on youtube here.
-I've been really into creating planning excel/spreadsheets after watching this video tutorial. ;)
-This Chicago photographer/storyteller (her genuine sharing about faith and life is quite inspiring)
-Kdrama: Fight For My Way is quite cute and fun to watch
-Just finished reading Howard Gardner's "Changing Minds" and it's cool to think about multiple intelligences and read the stories/examples of leaders who have changed people's minds with their rhetoric etc.
-Just getting into this Goblin ost "Beautiful": Crush's original version & Kyu's cover of it
-more lifestyle/real people instagrammers: erin & kristyu

Damai staycation part II (Sarawak's own mini Hawaii)
On the second evening, we decided to use the free shuttle the resort offers to go up to the hilltop pool and we were soooo glad we did! The view was spectacular from the top and it looked like Hawaii!
No filters needed for this beautiful landscape!
The hilltop pool was surprisingly empty and we enjoyed our swim there.
After the swim, the sunset hour was starting and the sunset glow basked a golden light on everything.
After that, we went back down to watch the sunset sky. The weather was not good enough for an "egg yolk" sunset but it was still beautiful, with a calming blue hues laced with some yellow.
After dinner, we ended the night with another walk by the seaside and called it a night.
