Hong Kong-Star Ferry

The charming little Star Ferry and its pier in Tsim Sha Tsui won my heart with its forest green and white paintings and star-motif decorations. The ride felt nostalgic and magical at the same time. I was a bit wary of the rocking waves since it was raining at that time but N reassured me it would be fine and it was (felt really secure with him next to me)!
They give the option of paying by octopus card or a token. Nick bought a token for me just for the sake of doing it the old-fashioned way. :)
I love how everything fits in within the theme--colour scheme and the star motif. This makes me happy. Haha..
While waiting for the ferry to arrive.
 Going aboard!
See the black stars on the chimney of the ferry?
Star-themed reversible chairs on the ferry:
 That's my nervous-but-I'm-ok face
These two were taken on my second ferry ride on Christmas Eve, this time crossing from Central Pier to TST. The architectural look of the Hong Kong Cultural Centre finally grew on me because at first I thought it looked pale and sort of ugly. The weather was cloudy again but hey, I can always look forward to the next time when I can experience a sunny (preferably mildly sunny) star ferry ride.

Christmas Eve in Hong Kong

We decided to join the crowd at the Victoria Harbour for Christmas Eve despite expecting a large crowd for the occasion.
In front of the Peninsula Hotel, which I had also taken a picture with when I was a baby in Hong Kong.
After dinner with N's parents, we found our way to the harbourfront.
There were so many live music bands playing side by side along the harbour walk. Among the many bands playing, there was an uncle who played Cantonese Christian songs that we are familiar with, so I was really touched to hear the Gospel message amidst the Jay Chou/JJ Lin cover songs. I prayed that God would help these people know Him.
