On my first Sunday in York, I headed into town to find a Chinese church service that meets in St. Helen's Church (named after emperor Constantine's mother; Constantine was proclaimed the Roman emperor in York) which is not far from the York Minster. York St. John is really next to the town center so students/I can walk to town easily. Again, it was by God's grace that I found my way there (with a little help from the tourist information center) and was able to meet several brothers and sisters in Christ who were very welcoming.
After church, the pastor/retired missionary who was in Indonesia for a long time (he spoke Malay/Indonesian to me) and his wife brought a few of us to lunch. After a yummy udon lunch at Wagamama's, two girls brought me to walk around town, along with my German friend who met up with us. Here are some "walk & snap's" for you guys of the
town. Not the greatest photos, but it gives you an idea of what York is
like. :)

With the girls from church. They were so sweet. |

I love how the roads in town are mostly for pedestrians, occasionally for cars and other interesting bikes like the one above. |
At 5.30pm, I went to YSJ to attend a housing meeting and met my two housemates Laura and Issy there because they just happened to sit down next to me (what a coincidence!). They just moved in today because they are UK locals. Our other housemate also came today and I met her later when I went home.
